BBQ for Judd: Anytime Fitness in Windsor is hosting a barbecue dinner sale (pick-up only) from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the fitness center, 11403 Windsor Blvd. All proceeds will go to funding a racing wheelchair for town resident Judd Smith. Any remaining monies will go to a charity of Judd’s choice. The cost is $8 for pre-sale tickets and $10 the day of the event. Multiple gift card raffles will be done on site. Delivery is available to local businesses in Windsor. Pre-sale hours are through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call 870-2737.

Free College and Career Fair: A free Career and College Fair is set for Saturday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Paul D. Camp Community College Hobbs Campus, 271 Kenyon Road, Suffolk. Meet and talk to professionals from a wide variety of colleges and career pathways including business, communications, healthcare, hospitality manufacturing and transportation. World-Famous ChickAQue: Meal features one-half barbecue chicken, baked beans, cole slaw and roll for $9 per plate. Desserts sold separately. This will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Benn’s UMC, 14571 Benn’s Church Blvd., Smithfield. Get your tickets early as this usually sells out quickly. Call 357-3373.

Spring Craft Fair: The Woman’s Club of Windsor is sponsoring its sixth annual event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Windsor Community House, 14 Community Drive. Vendors will include Tupperware, cemetery flower arrangements, Perfectly Post, crochet hems, handmade jewelry, Origami Owl, Scentsy, Lilla Rose, bottle art, home décor, Lula Roe, glass art, embroidery, Pampered Chef, Paparazzi Jewelry. For lunch, homemade chicken salad and pimento cheese will be sold as sandwiches and in bulk. A bake sale and raffles will also be featured. Admission is free.

Spaghetti Dinner: The youth of Woodland UMC are hosting the meal from 5 to 7 p.m. This is a fundraiser for Rise Against Hunger. This organizations feeds hungry children around the world. Tickets will be available at the door. Cost is $7 per plate.

Western Tidewater Master Gardeners Second Annual Plant Sale: This will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Carrollton Library, 14362 New Towne Haven Lane. Plants available, but not limited to, will include natives, annuals, herbs, host, shrubs, trees, perennials, nectar/pollinator and vegetables. Sunday, May 6 will be the rain date. Flower and art show: The Historic Wakefield Foundation presents its 31st annual Flower and Art Show on through Friday, May 18. This year’s show will feature the work of more than 70 artist,s each artwork accompanied by a floral arrangement designed to produce a unified, harmonious display. The Gala Opening Reception will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission will be $10 per person. The reception will feature heavy hors-d’oeuvres and live musical entertainment by pianist Nan Seeley. The exhibit will be open on Sunday, May 6. Admission to this day will be by donation and the exhibit will be open from noon to 4 p.m. The exhibit and building will be open on the following times and days afterward: Monday, 1 to 8 p.m.; Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Friday, noon to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday by appointment. Mother’s Day Lunch: Airfield 4-H Conference Center, 15189 Airfield Road, Wakefield, will have a Mother’s Day Lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $17 for adults, $13 for children (8-12), $10 for children (4-7) and $5 for children 3 and under (prices include tax.).
