Prospective and Small Business Consultations: The Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce is accepting reservations for prospective and small business owners to meet with Jim Carroll, a consultant from the Small Business Center of Hampton Roads. Schedule a free appointment for one-hour slots between 9 a.m. and noon. On Thursday, Sept. 20. Future sessions will take place on Thursday, Oct. 20, Nov. 15 and Dec. 20. Business After Hours: The Bank of Southside Virginia, 115 Main St., Smithfield, will host the event on Thursday, Sept. 20, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. This event is open to all chamber members and prospective members, and offers an opportunity for business professionals to network as well as enjoy great conversations and refreshments. Ribbon Cutting: Old Point National Bank in Windsor will celebrate its expansion on Friday, Sept. 28, with the time to be announced later. The bank is at 11407 Windsor Blvd.

Annual Meeting and Awards Reception: The Chamber will host this event on Tuesday, Oct. 9, starting at 4 p.m. in the Cedar Point Country Club, Suffolk. Program ends at 6 p.m. “Feathers and Fedoras” will be the theme. Get your tickets NOW for our Annual Meeting and Awards Reception…Feathers and Fedoras! We’ve got a “dapper” theme, fresh tunes, and there will even be a little “foot juice”… let’s “roar” into 2019 in style!

We will also be presenting awards for: Entrepreneur of the Year, Teacher of the Year, and Citizen of the Year!
