The Virginia Department of Transportation will close a portion of Thomas Woods Trail (Route 614) in Isle of Wight County starting as early as Nov. 7.

Contractor crews will be applying a spray liner to increase the structural integrity and lifespan of existing culvert pipes. The work will require a full road closure just north of the road’s crossing over the Blackwater River into Southampton County.

Motorists traveling from Southampton County into Isle of Wight via Seacock Chapel Road will detour by turning left onto Tucker Swamp Road (Route 635) or left onto New Road (Route 622), then right onto Windsor Boulevard (Route 460), right onto Zuni Circle, right again onto an access road and left onto Thomas Woods Trail.
