Isle of Wight County Schools announced on social media Sunday evening, Oct. 2, that it would be closed Monday, Oct. 3.

On its Facebook page, IWCS stated that it has been in close communication with local officials regarding weather conditions for Monday.

“Significant tidal flooding and high winds are forecast throughout the region making road conditions unsafe for buses and cars,” the post noted. “Therefore, all IWCS schools and offices will be closed Monday, Oct. 3, for students and staff. In addition, the CIP meeting scheduled for Monday at 6 p.m. has also been canceled.”
