RMA announces winners of annual Juried Exhibition

Rawls Museum Arts, in Courtland, recently announced the winners of its annual Juried Exhibition.

Receiving first place for Best in Show was Nancy M. Stutts and her Fairyland Forrest. A comment on the piece praised its “use of medium, color and depth.”

Second place went to Sandy Lupton for her Sea Monsters of the Pamlico. Comments on the piece included that it featured “excellent mixed media, book and wall pieces, driftwood application and humor.”

“Great use of media” was the comment highlighting Lynda Ray’s Stratus 2, which earned the third place honor.

Receiving honorable mention were Pamela Wiggins’ Beware of Copperheads for its “excellent concept and execution”; Shirley Whitenack’s Rugala Roses at Portland for its “great light and composition”; and Whilhelmina Estrada’s Afternoon Haze for its “depth, color, a sense of place and atmosphere.”

In the Francis Gallery is Christopher Revels’ “We Are All in the Same Boat Together.” The event is free and open to the public.

The exhibit will be on display through Sept. 22. Gallery hours are from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays.
