Isle of Wight County has partnered with the data-gathering platform Zencity to launch a new public survey soliciting input on how the locality can better serve its senior citizens.

The results will inform the county’s future budgets and other programming priorities.

“We are always striving to get input from residents and this partnership with Zencity will be a great step toward understanding resident priorities for supporting our seniors,” said County Administrator Randy Keaton.

Keaton “understands that effective local government must leverage data on the needs and priorities of residents,” said Eyal Feder-Levy, Zencity’s chief executive officer. “We are proud to help Isle of Wight County reach more voices in the community and turn that input into action in support of the community’s seniors.”

The survey builds on an existing partnership between Isle of Wight and Zencity that began in December.

Zencity’s survey will incorporate voices from every corner of the community by setting response targets based on U.S. Census data about Isle of Wight. Survey responses will remain anonymous unless a participant chooses to share his or her email address for follow-up purposes. In such cases, a respondent’s answers will still be kept confidential.

Zencity will not collect a respondent’s name, address or any other personally-identifying information.

The survey will appear to Isle of Wight County residents through the use of digital ads in various locations, including news websites, social media platforms, blogs and apps. Additionally, residents can find and take the survey athttps://elucd.typeform.com/to/TUNlGUrZ?.

Once the results are ready, the county will share them with residents.
