Two incumbent Isle of Wight County Board of Supervisors candidates won a new term in office on Election Day. Both ran unopposed.

According to unofficial results Isle of Wight County’s Registrar’s Office released Nov. 2, Rudolph Jefferson, who represents Isle of Wight’s Hardy District, had received 96% of the 2,568 votes cast district-wide. There were 101 write-ins, accounting for just under 4% of the total votes.

“I just thank the citizens that came out to vote today in all the races in the county,” Jefferson said.

He added he hopes to continue working toward capital improvement projects in the Hardy District during his new term, among them the planned replacement of Westside Elementary School, the planned Henry H. Bradby Memorial Park in Rushmere and the renovation of Tyler’s Beach, also in Rushmere.

Don Rosie, who represents Isle of Wight’s Carrsville District, also received 96% of the 2,274 votes cast in that district. Only 89 votes went to write-in candidates.
