The winners of the Isle of Wight County Museum’s annual Pan Ham photo contest have been announced, and all three winners are from Virginia.

Matthew and Justyn Hostetler, of Chesapeake, won first place with a picture at the Merry-Go-Round Museum in Sandusky, Ohio. Melissa Hedgepeth Howell, of Windsor, won second place with a photo of the waves at Pea Island on the Outer Banks, North Carolina. Clyde Cocke, of Yorktown, won third place with a photo of the Tick Tock Diner in New York, New York.

The contest encourages people to take an image of P.D. Gwaltney Jr. and his ham — now on display at the museum as the World’s Oldest Ham — with them and document a vacation moment with the photo of Gwaltney.

Winners are chosen by random draw from the entries.

This year’s contest is over, but entries are accepted all year long and will be entered in the next contest. Visit www.historicisleofwight.com for more information.
