Windsor reaches regional title games in softball, girls soccer

Windsor High School’s varsity softball and girls soccer teams have advanced to the championship games in their respective Region 2A tournaments, while the Dukes varsity baseball squad’s 2021 run came to an end in the regional semifinals.

In softball, the No. 6-seeded Lady Dukes defeated No. 7 Amelia County High School 2-0 in the semifinals June 15 after upsetting No. 3 Nottoway High School 9-3 in the quarterfinals June 14.

Windsor travels to No. 1 Randolph-Henry High School on June 17 for the Region 2A championship, set to start at 6 p.m.

In girls soccer, No. 1 Windsor beat No. 5 King William High School in a June 15 semifinal game, 1-0, after routing No. 8 Arcadia High School 8-0 in the quarterfinals June 14.

The Lady Dukes will host No. 3 Poquoson High School in the regional final June 17 at 5 p.m.

The No. 5-seeded Windsor baseball team lost 18-1 to No. 1 Poquoson in the semifinals June 15 after upsetting No. 4 Prince Edward County High School 9-3 in the quarterfinals June 14.
