Promotions well deserved
To our thinking, the recent announcement of two law enforcement officers’ promotions in Isle of Wight County is an encouraging one.
As reported, Sheriff James Clarke has elevated Sharon Morgan from sergeant to lieutenant and is supervising the investigative division. That group researches major crimes that occur in the county.
Tommy Potter, previously a lieutenant, is now captain of the operations section. In large part, he has ensure that each division, including investigations, has all that it needs to thoroughly accomplish its work.
We’re glad to see that Sheriff Clarke has recognized the abilities and further potential in both Morgan and Potter, and hope to see more promotions of the personnel in the months and years to come.
We believe both individuals to be worthy of their new positions, and are reminded of Luke 12:48 that to whom much is given, much shall be required.
