Still we remember

The necessary precautions to follow where the pandemic is concerned have understandably precluded traditional Memorial Day services just about everywhere, and Windsor is no exception. We understand, though, that a committee of the GFWC Woman’s Club of Windsor is hoping to place flags on veterans’ graves at the local cemetery this weekend. That’s fitting, especially since the organization has for years been involved in organizing just such a program. We thank you, ladies, for your service.

Speaking of gratitude, it behooves all of us to take some time on Monday to acknowledge the men and women who have served our country. Countless is the number of those who have died in wars past and present. But whether they perished on the battlefield or after, priceless is their sacrifice.

The least we can do is to remember and be grateful for such people. They paid for our freedoms.
