WINDSOR

How much has medicine changed from decades or even centuries ago? That will be the topic of the next Lunch and Learn program in the Windsor Town Center.

The event will be on Wednesday, Feb. 12, starting at noon. Tickets cost $10 per person and can be purchased at the Windsor Town Center.

The program will be hosted by the isle of Wight County Museum and is described as “A fun-filled and yet unbelievable history of cures and treatments over the years, showcasing some historic medical misfires and malpractices, as well as some “treatments” predicated on a range of cluelessness, trial and error and straight-up scams.

The lecturer will be Tracey Neikirk, curator of the Isle of Wight County Museum. She will bring old bottles of medicine and snake oil to show to the crowd.

Afterward, participants may want to take their vitamins.
