CARRSVILLE

Isle of County Sheriff’s investigators are seeking the identity and location of a man suspected of abducting an elderly Carrsville man on Sunday, according to Lt. Tommy Potter.

The department spokesman told The Tidewater News that an elderly man came home late Sunday night after a trip to the Walmart in Franklin.

“On returning home, he was caught by surprise by the suspect who was waving a firearm,” Potter said. “The man was forced into a vehicle and taken to a number of unknown locations. Early morning on Monday, his debit card was used to withdraw cash in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. The victim was still in custody, but could not see where. The suspect later dropped him unharmed at an unknown location. The victim found someone to help him contact the police.”

Based on the images taken from the ATM’s video camera, the investigators — said Potter — think the suspect is a very muscular black male.

“We’re hoping someone will recognize the hoody, which is very distinctive,” the lieutenant said.

Anyone who can help identify the man in the photos is asked to call 1-888-LOCK-U-UP (562-5887) or use the p3 app.
