WINDSOR

At the March meeting of the Windsor Ruritan Club, Carl Eason was recognized for 60 years of membership and perfect attendance. Invited guests included his family and national and state officers of Ruritan International. Eason became a member of the Windsor Ruritan Club in March 1959.

Also recognized were two members of 50-plus years perfect attendance: Wilson Holland (1965) and Macon Edwards (1968).

The program for the meeting was presented by our state representative, Emily Brewer (R-64). She spoke of issues that were challenging to the state legislative session and the unanimity to rise above the drama and focus upon the legislation issues.

Included in her presentation was that her office staff now includes an individual to assist with issues concerning military veterans; availability of grant funding for technical and mechanical job education; funding for rural roads; and a continued concern for improvements needed for the highways that move traffic through the district, which are designated as hurricane evacuation routes.
