Community Electric Cooperative is pleased to announce the appointment of Daryl Walls to the role of Vice President of Business Development and Special Projects reporting to the chief executive officer. In this role, Daryl will be responsible for identifying and leading strategic business development, alliance and acquisition opportunities for CEC and its subsidiaries.

Prior to joining CEC, Daryl was the Vice President of Operations and Business Development with Tough Gear in Ponte Vedra, Florida, where he successfully engaged in multi-million dollar business growth initiatives delivering new products, markets, and brand innovation through strategic partnership arrangements with entities such as the PGA Tour, Team USA, Harley-Davidson, Wounded Warrior Project, and the US Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.

I am convinced that his personality, broad experience and network will prove to strengthen CEC as we expand and adapt to the ever-changing market.”

Much of Daryl’s early career has been focused on operations and business development. While at Sleiman Enterprises, one of Florida’s largest privately held real-estate companies that develops and manages shopping centers, Walls helped contribute to multi-million dollar revenue growth by re-building the property operations team to include a major role in the customer experience, contract servicing, and the revenue growth process within national anchor, strong regional, and local store customer segments. Prior to this, Daryl served in a similar leadership role for Global Signal in the cell tower site operations and leasing business.

With CEC, Daryl will be working closely with Harmon; Jonathan Thompson, chief operations officer; and Kenny Bunch, director of Business Development. He holds his M.B.A. from Auburn University and his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Mary Washington College.

Daryl is originally from Smithfield, and graduated from Smithfield High School. He and his family are looking forward to returning to the area.
