WINDSOR

On Wednesday, Windsor High School was brifly placed on modified lockdown as the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of school administrators, conducted a random canine drug scan.

The scan occurred throughout the building as well as in the parking lot, and yielded no illegal substances or paraphernalia. Students and staff cooperated with the authorities and the search was complete after an hour.

“Events such as this help ensure parents, students and the community that maintaining safe schools and an effective, well-disciplined learning environment, is a priority for Isle of Wight County Schools,” said Lynn Briggs, director of community and media relations for Isle of Wight County Schools.
