Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Blackwater Regional Library has recently expanded its reach in two ways. One with a new bookmobile and the other via the postal system, both which will better enable people to conveniently find a book or movie to enjoy.
In the past, the former vehicle would arrive at set destinations, park and the librarian would wait for people to step up inside to check out books. Now the staff can load a handful of carts with literature, movies and music intended for different sites, and easily roll them inside to nursing homes, community centers, retirement villages and wherever else that makes accessibility that much easier.
The other program is Books-by-mail, which also serves patrons unable to visit regular library branches due to handicaps. That service was just launched earlier this past week.
We thank BRL director Jenny Bakos, bookmobile branch manager Hillary White and staff for making a strong move to connect people to the aforementioned materials. They help to fulfill a library’s mission of getting people to read, to listen and to watch for personal enjoyment or intellectual enrichment.
