Family Fun Day: The Airfield 4-H Conference Center, 15189 Airfield Road, Wakefield, will have Open House Family Fun Day with crafts, games and more. For more information, call 899-4901.

Smithfield Rocks: The Arts Center @ 319 in downtown Smithfield has monthly “paint a rock” workshops. For a $5 fee, get two river rocks to paint as you like. This is not just for the younger set, but for families and grown-ups too. All paint, brushes and artistic advice are provided. Memorial Day: A service will take place at 3 p.m. in the Windsor Cemetery. Buzz Ballard will lead the program and plans to use hymnals from the Vietnam War.

Blood drive: This will take place in the Windsor Ruritan Community Building, 14 Community Drive, from 2 to 6 p.m. Sponsors are AARP of Windsor, Woman’s Club of Windsor, Windsor Ruritan Club and Dairy Queen. Relay For Life of Isle of Wight/Surry: This will be in Smithfield High School, with the opening ceremony at 10 a.m., followed by the Survivors’ Lap; a second take places at 6 p.m. There will be activities and entertainment all day long. Ladies Shooting Clinic: The Airfield 4-H Conference Center, 15189 Airfield Road, Wakefield, will have a Ladies Only Shooting Clinic. The registration fee is $50. To register or for more information, call 899-4901.

First Saturdays Artisan Market: Local artisans with unique specialties in scented candles, wearable art, stained glass, oil paintings, herbal soaps, jewelry, quilts, metal art, handcrafted pens, turned wood, pottery, Native American art, photography, folk art, repurposed furniture, Natie American tacos, craft demonstrations. The Nottoway Tribe of Virginia History Interpretive Exhibit is also available for view. This takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Gallery 1606, corner of Highway 58 and Main Street, 18001 Southampton Parkway. Reservations are required for free vendor space. Free admission. AARP driving class: The Isle of Wight County Commission on Aging will host an AARP Safety Defensive Driving Class from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 5 and 6 in the recreation hall at Nike Park, 13036 Nike Park Road, Carrollton. Live music: The community is invited to join Sgt. Jayton D. Patterson, USMC, VFW Post 4411for a live music event at 3385 Beaverdam Road, Franklin, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Charles Butler Hall. The featured band will be Otto Shelor and the Country Ravens, who will entertain at no charge; however, tips will be welcomed. Doors open at 6 p.m. There will be food and beverages available for purchase. This is a rain-or-shine event.

Treasures & Trades Show: The Carrsville Ruritan Club will host this in the community center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents are wanted to share their homemade crafts and goodies, or who are wanting to clean out their attics and share/sell their treasures. Vendors will include Origami Owl, Pampered Chef, Lula Roe, Thirty-One, Paparazzi and Scentsy. Estate and antique items also for sale. There will also be food hot from the kitchen, drinks and baked goods. To reserve a table for indoor ($25, but nearly sold out) or outdoor ($15,) contact Paula Apperson at admiralappy@msn.com.
