FRANKLIN — Juanita W. Barnes, 93, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017.

She taught at Georgie Tyler Elementary School (now Windsor Elementary School) and retired after 20 years.

Survivors include her son, Lee A. Barnes Jr.; three sisters-in-law; her godchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The celebration of life service was at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11, in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 6100 Holy Neck Road, Suffolk, with the Rev. Dr. William L. Lang officiating. She was buried in the church cemetery.

Crocker Funeral Home Inc., Suffolk, was in charge of arrangements.
